Callaway Ft-5 Driver / Flex Regular / Loft 11

Callaway FT-5 is a classic with an edge.

This is a 460 cc driver with Callaway’s groundbreaking Fusion Technology, where the titanium face and composite head work together to give you high ball speed and stability in one and the same swing.

You get a driver that can still move the ball.

Who is it for?

FT-5 is aimed especially at you if you are a mid- or low-handicap golfer and want control from the tee — but still want help when you don’t strike it quite pure.

It’s also ideal if you struggle with a slice. It’s a well-known draw-bias model that helps you close the face and start the ball more to the left (for right-handed players).

What do you get?

- Variable face thickness titanium face, designed right up to the CT limit for maximum ball speed

• High MOI that reduces twisting at impact and increases forgiveness

• Low, penetrating ball flight

• Opportunity to work the ball start via weight placement in the head

• Traditional shape that looks great and steady behind the ball

It was one of the first drivers with true “hot face” technology — and it was rewarded with Editor’s Choice on Golf Digest’s Hot List. For good reason.

How does it perform?

FT-5 gives you a low and controlled ball flight with plenty of speed off the face. The large 460 cc clubhead gives confidence at address and forgiveness when you don’t strike the sweet spot perfectly.

It’s a driver for you if you want to cut through the wind, take command from the tee, and at the same time have a little extra help built into the head.

Phil Mickelson had it in the bag when he won the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in 2007.

That really says it all.
