Hofner 456 Archtop 1953 - Description
Great playing and looking Hofner 456 from around 1953.
The Hofner has an original shellac finish, what is very rare and usually not found in this price range.
Work done: new frets, added a carbon reeinforcement into the neck, new tuners, new rosewood peghead, added a dowel stick into the body between neck and end block for stability, as the top has a slight deformation.
The guitar is far from collectible but a very nice playing, sounding and looking instrument.
The neck is with 46mm wider than most neck of that time and not too fat.
